On the auspicious occasion of Dipawali 2016, Bright Star Society conducted an exclusive Deusi Bhailo Program on October 29 and 30 with the charitable intention to raise funds for it’s forthcoming social campaigns and community-rebuilding initiatives targeted in the earthquake-affected communities of Nepal.
Deusi Bhaili, a traditional singing and dancing cultural program performed during Tihar/Dipawali celebration, turned out to be a golden chance that Bright Star Society, the musical artists and the volunteers presented the unique musical Deusi program with new flavor to the homes of the friends, board-members, supporters and well-wishers in 17 different locations of Kathmandu. The welcoming hosts gave a huge feedbacks to the collective efforts of BSs and the entire group were able to make lots of fun and generate some funds simultaneously.
The unique musical blast not only supplied entertainment to people, but also that gave the message to raise and spread awareness on health, hygiene and the different aspects of disability. Unlike other’s Deusi, BSS presented the full package of both entertainment and awareness under the single scheme of Deusi program making people realize the pwower of music in creating a difference, expanding possibilities and educating people via arts and music. The entire program was led by Bashudev Adhikari, the chairperson of Bright Star Society, who composed the various awareness-generating songs and sang himself with the team with his full strength and energy.
From the non-stop program done in 17 different places during the couple of days, BSS raised 1,32500 rupees (around 1350 US Dollars), which set the outstanding record in it’s whole fund-raising event so far.
Winter is now on the way. For the children and victims living in the remote villages who lost their homes in earthquake and have been living in temporary shelters, the winter is something that takes their breath away. So the collected funds will be used to help earthquake-affected children and adults with winter clothes, need-based supplies and the educational materials in different schools.
BSS is committed to keeping you all posted on the progress and the launch of it’s winter campaigns and social initiatives used from the collected funds.
